This table was made from the same piece of wood as the coffee table. The wood is Santa Maria, a fast growth hardwood I got from EcoTimber out in the East Bay. The frame is half inch tubing, tig welded together with 1/4" stainless stock making up the rack portion. The steel was rusted because I wanted to play with rusted and unrusted metal in a structure with wood. I sped up rusting by applying some magic solution John Wilson gave me, I think it was copper sulfate. This site bears me out. The wood was finished with two coats of linseed oil and one coat of polyurethane. The metal was finished with polyurethane only.
